My 2022 word + three things I’ll focus on this year

The first blog post in 2022!! YAY!

I usually don’t make a big fuss about NYE or starting the year in some perfect way. The older I get the less I care about superficial made-up stuff like NYE, valentines day etc…

Instead, I want to care more about little daily actions that accumulate to a better life, relationship, love, health etc.

Not ONE DAY where everything HAS to be perfect.

Instead, many days where life is filled with imperfections but I’m consciously bringing presence and gratitude and ease to the experience.

With that said, it’s still exciting to have a new year ahead of us, to feel a little bit of freshness and hope for what’s to come.

So today, I want to share three things I will focus on this year that will add to that gentle, slow, steady accumulation of health, goodness, wealth (not just financial), pleasure and joy.

Focus Number One- READING

I will focus on reading. I was an avid reader when I was younger. I’ve always LOVED reading.

But the last few years, after studying a masters degree in sexology and then completing my online sex coaching certification, I over-read and grew sick of it. I also ONLY read sexuality-related books, which also made me so bored after 7 years…

But, finally, I’ve reconnected with my love of reading and I’m reading lots of different kinds of books lately.

The Great Influenza by John M Barry

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

Are my two previous reads.

I’m currently reading – Leadership in Turbulent Times by Doris Kearns Goodwin. (No I’m not American, I’m from and living in Sweden, in case you’re wondering).

After this, I’m gonna read all the Harry Potter books again! Haven’t read them in probably 20 years, and I'm really looking forward to revisiting that magical world.

Focus Number Two-

SELF-PLEASURE

Believe it or not, but this sex coach has experienced a LOT OF resistance to her solo pleasure practices lately.

I think it’s because I’m at a plateau. Where I can feel the next level, but it’s freaking me out.

My partnered sexuality has been the focus for a while, and it’s really taken off and I’ve experienced incredible new heights and levels of bliss and orgasm in partnered sex.

But, I’m ready for my solo practice to be the focus again, I’m here for it and I feel ready now.

Pleasure is the medicine I prescribe to all my clients, and I will now indulge in my own medicine, eat my own words (and pussy) and get high off of pussy – on my own!

Focus Number Three- Cooking & Homemaking

I still can’t really believe this myself, but yesterday I told my husband:

“I just want to be a housewife”

😳😳😳

It’s true. A part of me just wants to potter around the house, cook food all day, not worry about work and solely focus on the thriving of my home and family. And myself.

I mean, when I think about it, there’s nothing that really matters more to me than that.

Sure, your orgasmic expansion is important to me and I feel my work is a kind of soul creativity and deeper missing of sorts… but in the end, I’d close my business and tell you all to lovingly fuck off if my family really needed me to be there 100% present.

How can I be so sure of that?

Because I’ve done the opposite… I’ve put my business and career before my kid and husband, and that didn’t go all to well (cue depression, burnout, marriage tension).

But it’s not just about priorities…

I want to focus on cooking as a sort of meditation and self-care.

I want to focus on homemaking as a form of presence in the way I raise my son, how I create routine and ritual in my life, and really feel content with every day.

I want to focus on cooking and homemaking to reclaim the beauty of the work my female ancestors did and that we’ve lost in our modern world…

This is all about nourishing myself on a mind, body and soul level.

It’s about learning about nutrients and how food truly is medicine, and connecting with the grounding spiritual practice of building and caring for a home and the people you share it with.

My word for 2022

Lastly, I want to share my word for 2022…

MEDICINE

This will be my guiding word for choices I make, actions I take and thoughts I think.

***

So, those were my three things plus my word… What are yours? Have you thought about it?

Feel free to share them with me, I’d love to witness and celebrate what you choose to focus on this year.
